Why should I choose you, Denise Lewis, To Be My Coach?

"We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give." -Sir Winston Churchill

I have a naturally instinctive way of motivating people to be the best that they can be. As my client, I will help you feel worthy of a more fulfilled life. We work as two persons coming together to co-create. I work with you on discovering your innate talents and bringing you to a successful plan of action that keeps you primed and motivated in the process of your life’s transformation and evolution. Obstacles and challenges are addressed as opportunities for success. I keep you focused and centered so you're able to move forward with effortless ease. I offer practical solutions for regaining control of your life and creating a life that also supports your goals, instead of recreating yourself to support everyone around you. We break down your goals into manageable pieces so that you won't become overwhelmed. My programs are designed to give you the tools you need to organize your life so you have time to do the things you love to do and give you back the time you need to take care of yourself.

I am compassionate, sensitive, intuitive, supportive, positive, enthusiastic, uplifting, and motivational. By working with me as your coach, your life will become infused with more energy and enthusiasm; you will uncover and recover your natural abilities to create a successful, prosperous and joyous life. You will capture exactly what you want in life, physically, emotionally, financially, and spiritually.

This work is my passion. The paramount gift for me is your SUPREME SUCCESS.

Denise’s Evolution and Transformation

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying: "Whom shall I send? Who will be our messenger?" I answered 'Here I am, send me.'-- Isaiah 6:8-9

I have been transforming and evolving in my own personal and professional life for many years now. I am 45 years young and at the age of 19, I married my wonderful husband Peter. Our marriage has grown into a passionate, loving and soulful relationship. We have been happily married for over 25 years! We have two fantastic children, Austin, who is now 22 years old and Tiana, who is now 20 years old. They are on their own journey of growth and excitement. We are very proud of both of them. We love them both very deeply and are honored to be their parents.

I started my business career by working in my family’s retail chain of clothing and shoe store’s when I was in high school. I helped run the business for over ten years. I wore a lot of hats and gained an invaluable amount of business expertise through out these experiences. I had the opportunity to create, manage, merchandise, train, market, sell, advertise and learn about becoming an entrepreneur.

After the family stores closed, and while my children were still young, I became an entrepreneur by starting and operating a home based day care center. At that time, I became intrigued with fitness and received my first certification as a group exercise instructor with The American Fitness Association of America. I started teaching a variety of exercise classes, including water aerobics and became certified as a water aerobics instructor with The United States Water Fitness Association and the Aquatic Exercise Association. I continued teaching a variety of exercise classes on a part time basis for many years.

While continuing to teach part time, and once my children started going to school, I decided to close my day care business and started working in the healthcare field. I helped my brother start his chiropractic office by becoming his office manager. He hired an executive coaching firm and that is where I got my first taste of coaching! I was then offered a wonderful opportunity by someone I knew so I moved on and became a systems consultant and trainer for a medical software company. I loved the coaching aspect of consulting and by training the staff; I discovered how much I enjoyed motivating and empowering others to be the best that they could be. Then, one of our clients offered me a position with their company as a system administrator. It was a great opportunity that allowed me the time to start going to college in the evenings. I put my exercise class teaching career on hold and started taking courses related to public speaking, psychology and coaching.

I completed a marathon by raising funds and joining the Train to End Stroke Program for The American Stroke Association in June 2001. During my training, I came up against problems with my feet, knees and hips but I was able to work through those obstacles. Along with my husband and team, and a truly fantastic running coach, we traveled to Hawaii and along with my team, I ran and completed the marathon. The course was pretty tough, it was the course that is used for the Iron Man Triathlon. We were out there with people from all over the world, ran on black pavement and were surrounded by nothing but dried up lava rocks, the blazing sun and temperatures in the 90’s! It was truly a life changing experience. I did run a half marathon after that and now stick to 5 mile runs, three times a week.

I found a true connection to the coaching field and continued my training. I graduated and assisted in the course, Understanding Yourself and Others (UYO), and The Living Course (TLC). I then went on to completeThe Next Step Leadership Program. I also did some Core Energetic work, a form of mind body psychotherapy. Most recently, in September of 2002, I became certified as a lifestyle and weight management specialist. That gave me a well rounded background in nutrition, health and wellness, fitness, stress management, smoking cessation, and various forms of exercise.

All of this work substantiated my beliefs in the importance of a holistic approach to both personal and professional development. I devised a unique approach to coaching by incorporating my knowledge of nutrition and fitness, and I created my own niche with the lifestyle and weight management coaching.
